Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Only a baseball fan's birthday could have inspired this cake. Glen is an avid Astros fan.... and so the only appropriate way to celebrate his 60th birthday was with a baseball cake. He requested carrot cake, so i made a thick carrot cake with whipped cream cheese icing. I delivered it with 4 Wilton baseball themed candles...a soda, a hotdog, popcorn, and a baseball mitt. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks....root root for the astros, if they dont win its a shame....

Happy Birthday Glen!

Zebra Inspiration

I heart animal print. My favorite travel bag is zebra print. I can spot it on the luggage carousel across the room. That bag is the inspiration for my next cake. I made this cake for a housewarming party. Because this cake was for a housewarming party, I wanted it to reflect the personality of the new house owner. Lucky for me, I thought an animal print cake would suit Joanna's personality and style. She has an uplifting personality with a very modern and chic style to her. So when I delivered the cake, she was delighted because it already matched the Zebra print napkins she had bought for the party! Congrats Joanna and enjoy your fab new home!

Sushi Cupcakes and Sushi Bites

I love sushi and so it was only appropriate that I was inspired to create a baked sugar goodie that everyone could enjoy (even if real sushi with fish isn't your thang). I spent hours in the kitchen experimenting trying to develop the right combinations and trying to remember what is in all my favorite rolls at Blue Fish, Tokyo Bowl, and Oishi. They were a great addition for Peter's 30th birthday party. The cupcakes are thick yellow cake with buttercream icing with coconut topping and various candies. The sushi bites are a variety of candy combinations. Oh and just for fun, i added a bowl of chocolate rocks. Peter thought it was great to go over to the table and start eating the rocks in front of people because they look so real.
